Polynesian Cultural Center
There are several options at the Polynesian Cultural Center to choose from.
Once you visit the amazing Polynesian Cultural Center on the northern side of Oahu, you will see why so many consider it Oahu's top attraction. In simple terms, it's an amazing place that no visitor to Oahu should miss.
You'll experience the full breadth of Polynesian Culture in this incredible park, which is spread out over 42 lush tropical acres. Among the main attractions are the seven authentic Polynesian villages that showcase the traditional island life of Tonga, Tahiti, the Marquesas, Fiji, New Zealand (Aotearoa), Samoa and, of course, Hawaii.
Make sure you take your time in visiting all seven villages (which are connected by waterways and lush walking paths), as each one is a treat for all of your senses. Plus, there's the pageant of long canoes, craft activities all day long, canoe rides, a world-famous luau, the IMAX Theater, Polynesian (and American) cuisine that is second to none, the spectacular Horizons night show - the list goes on and on.
This is the authentic Island Experience you've been waiting for!
Your day is filled with Polynesian culture, both modern and from days gone by - Ancient Polynesian melodies and the beat of drums fill the air at every turn; dancers appear on stage and begin their traditional dance; traditional green grass skirts are swinging in the wind as they move to the music.
Hear the ukulele (Hawaiian guitar) player sing about old island stories and legends. Nearby, a man is climbing on a tall coconut tree, barefooted.
Behind him, another group of native islanders is wielding fire-knives and performing an old war dance.
Their eyes are sparkling with life as they do their rapid twists and turns and amazing feats of bravery.
It's a day where you'll see how the Polynesian people lived and celebrated in the old days before the first ships reached their tranquil shores. As soon as you pass through the gates, you'll be the surrounded by the captivating music, dances, cultural practices, and traditions of the Pacific Islands.
After a long day exploring the seven villages and the secrets they hold, you will be hungry and ready for Hawaii's most authentic luau. Conversely, you can dine at one of the many restaurant / buffet offerings, or just nibble all day long at the multitude of tasty treats offered at the various snack bars. And don't forget to see the spectacular Horizons night show, which is easily the most stunning performance on the island!
