The presentation at each Feast at Lele Luau offers tradition and authenticity. From the detailed and colorful costumes, to the music and the dancers, Feast at Lele consistently strives to provide our guests with a well-choreographed and talented Polynesian entertainment. Feast at Lele Luau has an outstanding show due to the efforts of our creative and award-winning director, Robert “Lopaka” Aguiar. The story begins in the northern point of the Polynesian triangle. The tales continue with the portrayal of the brave and courageous explorers, with their amazing navigational skills, sailed the uncharted waters of the South Pacific. With the use of the stars, the Polynesians’ understanding of ocean currents, and directions from the gods, these explorers discovered the islands of Hawaii. Enjoy the graceful hula dancers as they re-tell stories of the trials, hardships, love, war, and peace with their refined and elegant movements that flow with Hawaiian chants and music. The highlight of the show is the bold Samoan fire-knife dance. Courageous dancers will perform dangerous feats of amazing dexterity as they toss the flaming knife between their legs and around their back, giving the audience a spine-tingling performance.
The Feast at Lele Luau is different from other luaus found on the island of Maui, we serve our guests a four-course meal of fine dining served directly to your table. There are no long “buffet lines” found at the Feast at Lele. Each course represents a different and diverse island’s traditions and culture. Traditional song and dance sets the mood during the luau for each course as it is delivered to your table. The first course includes kalua pig, heart of palms salad, fresh island fish, and pohole ferns symbolizing the island of Hawaii. Hula dancers perform as traditional music is played as the sun sets in the background. The second course signifies the culture of New Zealand and while the food is served, Maori dancers are performing. The course includes kukupatties-Maori fishcake with mussels, sea bean duck salad with poha berry dressing, scallops, and salmon. Tahiti is represented with the third course, while Tahitian entertainers chant as the delicious cuisine is served that includes marinated scallops and fish on the shell, and steamed chicken with taro leaves in coconut milk. Samoa represents the fourth course with singing, dancing, as supa-sui, a grilled steak dish with baked breadfruit, shrimp, and avocado is served. Chef James McDonald does an outstanding job at presenting delicious and superb Polynesian Cuisine!
At the Feast at Lele Luau, the entertainment is conducted between each of the four courses our guests are served. You are served a specialty food representing a different Polynesian Island, as you watch the show from that particular island. This will repeat with each course you are served.
